The Main_Page page is an index to all linked pages. There is a short index which simply lists all page names - and table with a one liner description to each one of them.
Navigation - About
The About page shows most of the info in a fe words, such as motto, dates, websites, title, and address.
Navigation - Recent Changes
The Special:Recentchanges page shows you what has recently changed within the wiki. There are indications on newly created pages, on increase and decrease of size, and who made the change and possibly a reason, too.
Navigation - Random Page
Feel bored? Be surprised by looking up a random page from the wiki.
Navigation - Help
This gives you a brief summary of the most used markups of this wiki, eg for bold and cursive text, for numbered and unnumbered lists, sections headers, link styles (eg uploaded pictures), and tables.
Editing
You are encouraged to enhance the wiki with additional info and corrections/updates. There are many pages showing TODOs and questions - please answer them, if you can!
Please *register* yourself and log in - and your name will show up with the change automatically.
Registration
When you register (created an account) then you can also create a user page (User:Yourname).
You could add some info about yourself, such as your name, photo, cellphone and dect numbers, irc nickname, icq and jabber address, pgp key, and the affiliations to your company or some projects. Of course this is all voluntary.
You can also watch pages, ie you subscribe to notifications which are issued whenever the pages have been changed.
Whenever you change a page yourself then your name is added to the log (see Special:Recentchanges) - and you can view your own changes easily, too.
Within the preferences you can adapt your user profile, ie your real name, email address, and nickname, your password, and preferences for email notification.
You can also choose from seven difefrent layouts (skins), choose a maximum size for pictures and thumbnails to be viewed (in Files), adjust to your local date+time, choose the preferences for editing (eg "Edit pages on double click" and "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary").
Within the Watchlist you can decide how many days or edits to show - and you can requests all created, edited or moved pages to watch automatically.
A very useful "Misc" item is to always show the table of contents and automatically number the headings, too.
Prepare
When you prepare for the event, thhen you should not only think about packing hardware and software but also to add yourself to the People page to tell othes that you intend to participate in the event.
You might want to find lifts to i(or from) the event via the Travel page - and ask for accomodation on the Sleep page.
And if you cannot wait to talk to others then Chat with us on the channel [1]. (2008-08-01 About 40 people have showed up already -
and 24 are currently online, idling along..)
FAQ
The FAQ should list some frequently asked questions - possibly with answers, too. If the answer becomes too long then the info should move into a page of it own - and the answer gets replace by a link to that page.
Links
This page lists many outbound links, eg to Links#Blogs and Links#Pics. Please add a link to your own blog and consider adding your own pictures of the event wiht appropriate tags like froscon or even better froscon2008.
